We work with DJ’s and Remix producers to keep a watchful eye on what may be the next great re-make of a great title.

As an example, think off one of our titles “Try a Little Tenderness” sampled on the album debut of Kanye West and Jay-Z.

The album has gone straight to #1 on the Billboard 200, as well as #1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Rap Albums

“Try a Little Tenderness” is 70 years old, and has been covered by a range of artists including Michael Bublé, Chris Brown, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, and Tina Turner. This version is yet another to add to the repertoire, and we are delighted to be a part of Otis.

Watch the Throne is the collaborative album debut of Kanye West and Jay-Z. The album has gone straight to #1 on the Billboard 200, as well as #1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Rap Albums.

Jay-Z has the most R&B/Hip-Hop album #1s among solo artists, and Watch the Throne is Kanye West’s sixth #1 album, so it should come as no surprise that the CD has currently sold 436,000 copies, making it the second largest sales week of 2011, for an album.

UPDATE:

Watch the Throne sold 177,000 copies last week in the US alone, and remains #1 in Canada, Norway and Sweden. As well as this, it is in the top 10 in Denmark, Germany, Flanders, and the Netherlands. And the sales keep soaring!
