EWH Classical
The classical music companies within the Music Sales Group are internationally recognised as publishers of some of the 20th century’s greatest composers. Each publisher brings its own unique heritage and tradition to the group, and together they form the largest and strongest independent holding of 20th century classical music. Their expanding catalogues continue to offer the very finest in international contemporary music.
Chester Music - founded in 1860 – and Novello & Co - founded in 1830 – have long been identified with leading 20th century composers such as Stravinsky, Elgar, de Falla, Lutoslawski and Holst, and some of the finest international contemporary music such as Bennett, Glass, Gorecki, Henze, Maxwell Davies, Nyman, Preisner, Saariaho, Tavener and Weir.
Union Musical Ediciones represents some of the great names of Spanish classical music, including Granados, Rodrigo and Turina, as well as a huge range of other genres, including folk, mainstream pop and Spanish standards.

These cover nine decades of popular music from from every possible genre: soul, Broadway, punk, big band, disco, doo-wop, folk, jazz, novelty, rock, ska and pure pop. Our songs have been recorded by a multitude of great artists, ranging from The Beatles to Blondie, Sarah Vaughan to Diana Krall, Fats Waller in the 1920s to Robbie Williams in the new millennium.
Campbell Connelly was founded in London in 1925, and now comprises more than 75,000 individual song copyrights and musical shows. Campbell Connelly is particularly well-known for its standards, which are renowned as being among the 20th century’s finest. These include ‘We’ll Meet Again’, ‘Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend’, ‘Georgia On My Mind’, ‘Try A Little Tenderness’ and ‘Pennies From Heaven,’ as well as major show scores like‘Sweet Charity.’
The 20,000-strong Sparta Florida catalogue comprises mainstream popular hits, blues originals and film & TV music. However, it is most famous for its astonishing selection of ska and reggae songs. Virtually every significant Jamaican artist has recorded a Sparta Florida track, from Bob Marley and Dandy Livingstone to John Holt and Horace Andy. Sparta Florida songs have also found favour with many contemporary R & B, Hip Hop and Dancehall acts, who have covered and sampled anthems such as ‘Man Next Door’ and ‘I’mStill In Love With You’ to great commercial success.
Noel Gay Music owns over 6,000 titles, ranging from ‘30s classics such as George Formby’s ‘Leaning On A Lamp-Post’ to 60s novelties ‘Right Said Fred’ and ‘Lily The Pink.’ Iconic TV themes such as those for ‘Blackadder’ and ‘Red Dwarf’ also come under the Noel Gay Music umbrella. Many of this catalogue’s titles were written by Noel Gay himself, who stands as one of the most successful and enduringly popular British songwriters of all time.
